APRA consults on streamlined superannuation reporting through APRA Connect

Summary

APRA is consulting on amendments to superannuation reporting standards SRS 533.0, SRS 610.2 and associated definitions in SRS 101.0 as the collections move to APRA Connect. The proposals remove duplicated or unnecessary data, retain selected information used for publications and the MySuper performance test, and revoke SRS 001.0. Submissions close on 21 August 2026.

Why this matters

All RSE licensees should assess the revised forms, instructions and data definitions against their reporting processes and APRA Connect implementation plans. Although the proposals reduce several reporting requirements, retained data will still require appropriate ownership, reconciliation and quality assurance. The first applicable reporting period in APRA Connect is targeted for December 2026, with external testing expected from November. Trustees should also consider APRA's proposal to classify all data collected under the revised standards as non-confidential and identify any information they believe should remain protected. Less duplicated reporting is welcome, but it still requires a controlled migration.
